Sydney, 27–29 November 2026 | Sydney Town Hall (Lower Town Hall)
The 7th Sydney Tea Expo takes over the Lower Town Hall for three days in late November, bringing together more than 40 tea makers and brands from China and Australia. Admission is free, making it an easy addition to a Sydney weekend.
Across the six major tea categories, visitors can explore premium teas, matcha, and fine teaware, with tastings, traditional ceremonies, cultural performances, expert talks, and hands-on workshops running throughout. Doors open 10am–5pm on Friday and Sunday, and 10am–6pm on Saturday. For those on the trade side, a Trade Buyer Networking & Business Matching Session runs on the Friday afternoon, connecting buyers directly with producers and brands.
Whether you’re a devoted tea drinker or simply curious, the format is built for browsing at your own pace — sip, explore, and connect through tea.
This is the rare Sydney event you can reach on foot. Sydney Town Hall sits roughly 15 minutes’ stroll from Wentworth Avenue, straight up through the CBD — no train, no rideshare, no parking hunt. Staying nearby means you can come and go across all three days without factoring in travel time.
Guest rooms include kitchenettes and air conditioning, useful if you pick up teaware or loose-leaf purchases and want somewhere safe to store them. Accessible room options are available for those who need them.
Mee So, the hotel’s restaurant, serves Japanese and Korean-inspired dishes — bao buns, donburi bowls, gyoza — a natural pairing after a day of tea tasting. In-room dining continues until late if you’d rather wind down quietly.
Travelling with someone who prefers coffee? Industry Beans is served throughout the property, cold brew included, so nobody in the group has to compromise.
Chinatown is a short walk away, with its Asian supermarkets, noodle houses, and bubble tea shops — a fitting extension of a tea-focused weekend, and handy for stocking up on anything you sampled and liked.
Book your stay at ibis Styles Sydney Central for the Sydney Tea Expo 2026 and keep the whole weekend within walking distance.
