Ibis Styles Sydney Central - 3 stars hotel - Australian VET Conference 2027

Australian VET Conference 2027

Sydney, 18–19 March 2027 | Sydney Masonic Centre, 66 Goulburn Street

Under the theme “VET Forward: Leading the Future of Skills, Learning and Workforce Capability,” the Australian VET Conference returns for two full days at the Sydney Masonic Centre — a heritage venue in the heart of Sydney’s CBD, with train and bus access nearby and parking available close by.

The 2027 program is built around six streams rather than a single track, so delegates can assemble a pathway matching their role: Training, Assessment and Quality Excellence; AI, Digital Innovation and the Future of Learning; Leadership, Strategy and RTO Performance; Learner Experience, Student Support and Workforce Impact; First Nations Leadership, Communities and Culturally Responsive VET; and Government Workforce, Public Sector Capability and National Priorities. Each stream has its own “built for” audience — quality and compliance staff, trainers and assessors, instructional designers, CEOs and boards, student support and LLN teams, government and public providers.

Across the two days, 40+ presentations, panels, case studies, practitioner sessions, and strategy conversations run in parallel, with 500+ delegates expected. The design is deliberately whole-team: a CEO can attend alongside trainers, designers, and support staff, each following a different route and returning with role-specific actions. Pre-conference workshops include Disability Confidence in Practice and Future-Ready VET Trainer, and the VET Awards Night takes place on 18 March.

Tickets: In-person $949 per person (full two-day access, all six streams, morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea, conference materials, networking with 500+ delegates); online $850 per person (live stream, interactive Q&A, digital materials, virtual networking, and post-event access to all recordings); Awards Night only $175 per person, including pre-event drinks and canapés. Group rates and invoicing are available for team registrations.

Why Stay at ibis Styles Sydney Central for the VET Conference

A CBD Base Near the Masonic Centre

The Sydney Masonic Centre sits at 66 Goulburn Street, in the heart of the CBD. The hotel’s Wentworth Avenue address keeps you in the same central pocket of the city, with the venue reachable on foot or by a short trip on nearby train and light rail connections.

Room to Work Across Two Full Days

Guest rooms include kitchenettes and air conditioning, giving you space to review session notes, prepare questions for the next stream, or take a quiet call between blocks. Accessible room options are available on request.

Meals Between Streams

Mee So, the on-site restaurant, serves Japanese and Korean-inspired dishes — bao buns, donburi bowls, gyoza. In-room dining runs until late, useful on the evening of 18 March whether you’re heading to the Awards Night or reviewing the day’s sessions.

Coffee Before the Opening Session

Industry Beans coffee is available throughout the property, cold brew included. With 40+ sessions across six streams, a reliable cup before the first one is a small but genuine convenience.

A Central Base for the Whole Team

If you’re bringing a delegation, a CBD location means colleagues arriving by train from interstate or across Sydney can reach both the hotel and the venue without a long transfer. Chinatown’s restaurants are also close by for a team dinner between days.
